Sherrie – black paper seems to add a lot to certain still lifes, and I like doing light or colorful objects against a black background.

I love this one, Regina. To me it has an olde worlde quality … sort of sepia and faded photos and memories of times past.

Kari – I’ve done a few things on black paper, and actually didn’t like this one as much as some others. I did an onion a while back that I like better. (http://www.fallshadows.com/spicey.html) Your watercolor was just amazing!

Andy – Thank you! I usually like the black paper, but couldn’t bring the color up on this as much as I wanted to. But overall, I liked the final piece. And your colored pencil tomatoes look wonderful!

Jeanette – Thank you for your comments – it was more muted than a lot of the pieces that came out of this study – I loved looking at all of them.

Thank you Melissa for your comments on my blog – I enjoyed looking at yours also, especially your (first!) colored pencil animal portrait – it was great and the black on blue was very interesting!
