Live Oaks in the Fog – close to finished

February 8th, 2009 · 2 Comments

This looks very different from what I started with.  I was having fun with the colors at first, and then decided to bring it closer to the original scene, as I loved those colors too.  I think it is close to done – and would appreciate any feedback or suggestions! Really!

The key is – as I tell my husband – pick two good things about the piece and the one main thing that bugs you and then sandwich it in the middle of your critique.  That way you don’t hurt my little feelings. AndI don’t like the base of the two front trees – not sure where to go with that….

Hi there, nice colors and depth on this. No critique, it is very nice. (someone said very nice is a wishy washy response, I mean it … very nice) If you are unhappy with the base of the most forward trees, you might bring either one of them a little bit closer – just barely, by making the trunk a little longer, even though they are the same in the photo. It might help the composition and make you happier. Or not. Ha. I like it a lot.

Thank you, Jo. I’ll take ‘very nice’ any day! And I’ll try that on one of the trunks – you always give good art tips!
