I finished this pastel a few days ago, but didn’t want to post it until the person for whom it was commissioned had received it. Thank goodness she liked it! She had sent me a few photos, and we had decided on the lake scene from Minnesota where she used to live. A fun experience for me to paint snow – not much of that here in Texas!
A Minnesota winter scene

This is a great composition Regina! Reminds me of some Monet poplar paintings. That snow is so inviting and peaceful!

Thank you, Rose. I can’t take credit for the composition, since I was sent the photo, but I liked it a lot too.
After living in Michigan for ten years, I agree snow can be peaceful, but the word ‘inviting’ never comes to mind…

Regina, this is just beautiful. I agree on snow not being “inviting”. Ha. Lovely scene and well done.

Jo – Thank you. I really enjoying doing this one, and feeling cool on the hot days I worked on it.
Joanna – Thank you! A view we don’t see around here too often…
