The Comfort of Apples

October 13th, 2009 · 4 Comments

When I finish a painting that has been a challenge for me (whether it turned out well or not), I like to draw or paint something I’m more comfortable with. Also, there are days when nothing goes right, like today. I tried to start another painting, but it felt forced…  I even had problems framing a painting.   So I put the more difficult objectives aside, and sat down to draw a couple of pretty apples my husband gave me.

You know I love apples and use them as my comfort drawing, too. This is a great drawing with good hatching and shadows.

Thank you, Jo. My mouth waters whenever I look at your “Stacked” apples – all the colors in that painting make such a nice whole.

Thank you, Jo, for the award! I’ll have to give some thought on the items to post in regard to that, but don’t think I can ever hope to surpass Johanne Morin (http://johannemakingart.blogspot.com/2009/10/kreativ-blogger-award.html) for painting with her left hand and writing with her right. Too cool.
