I painted this today on some new paper that my sister-in-law gave me. It is print-making paper (Stonehenge paper). I wasn’t sure I would like it because I’m so stuck on the Ampersand sanded board, but it took layering well and blended nicely.
I’m going to put this up on my mantle in the living room, so I can walk by it all week and see if I still like it after a the first flush of being in love with a new painting has passed. It helps me to see the things that bug me, that need to be fixed…

Wow, such a beautiful sky. You also captured the saturated colors of a cloudy day very well.

Jo – Thank you very much. I really enjoyed painting this one. Sometimes painting seems to be a struggle from beginning to end, but this one was just fun. Made me sing

Regina I love this sky one, you truly are an expert with clouds.
I have used Stonehenge a lot with pastels in my college days, and loved it. Have fun with it, if this is any example, you have already mastered it.

Rae – Thank you so much. This is now my favorite of the paintings I’ve done. Guess it’s kind of that way for the most recent (if they turned out how you wanted them to).
