Saying Goodbye to a Painting

January 11th, 2013 · 2 Comments

Last week, during our monthly lunch, a group of artist friends were discussing what to do with paintings that have collected dust for too long. – They may even be ones you like personally, but for one reason or another, they never sold. They were never quite what you wanted them to be, or they no longer express your current ability or focus. – Do you destroy them, donate them, try to re-work them, give them to friends, or put them in the closet for a few more years? What are your thoughts?

If it is Pastelbord or good sanded paper you can wipe and brush it off and even wash it off. You will have a nice underpainting stain left.

Ah, forgot to say, don’t toss in the trash, they will find there way to a garage sale. Heh, heh.
