Janis Langley ~ Fine Art

Janis Langley has worked and studied as an artist since her childhood in San Antonio, Texas, where she was born and educated. She studied art at the University of the Americas in Mexico City and with numerous noted artists over her lifetime career.

Over the past 25 years, she has painted portrait commissions for a range of clients from various fields including politics; television, stage and film; media; law; and business, as well as for many of their children and families.

Janis works in pastel and mixed media, painting landscapes and still lifes, in addition to her concentration on portraits. She is a founding member of the American Portrait Society, and a member of the Martha’s Vineyard Art Association and the Austin Pastel Society. Her work has received awards from the Austin Pastel Society and has been chosen for juried exhibits with the Pastel Society of Cape Cod, Texas Pastel Society and Austin Pastel Society Her work is carried at the Old Sculpin Gallery in Edgartown, MA through her affiliation with the MVAA, and the Dragonfly Gallery on Martha’s Vineyard.
